British Travellers in Arabia exhibition

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, 15 Curzon Street, London, W1J 5DZ

10.00am to 7.00pm daily – admission free

The Exhibition is dedicated to the first "British Travellers in Arabia" and is open from Tuesday 28 September until and including Sunday 3 October 2004. It will consist of an offering of photographic images; video and archive material taken by the earliest Western explorers of Saudi Arabia and for the first time will be exhibited as one single collection.

On display will be timeless images by T.E. Lawrence, Bertram Thomas, William Shakespear, Gerald de Gaury and Gerard Leachman and photographs of Wilfred Thesiger, Gertrude Bell and Harry St. John Philby and biographical accounts of and writings exhibited by Lady Anne Blunt and Charles Doughty, but to name a few.

The Exhibition will be complimented by a series of lectures given by three distinguished students of Arabia in the early 20th Century.

The lecture itinerary is as follows (All lectures will take place at 5.30 p.m. and will last approximately 1 hour):
