Freddie in Oxford with his brother-in-law, a family friend, and his great-nephew, Chris Landon.
Freddie was a kind, loyal, and always interested friend, uncle, great-uncle and godfather. He was much loved by the members of his own family and by the children of his friends and colleagues, with whom he had a natural, unselfconscious rapport.
